Great first meeting![edit]

Very exciting to meet everyone and discuss possibilities. Anyone taking notes, could you post some of our goals on the front page? I'd love to have some ideas to take to upcoming edit-a-thons. - Seazzy (talk) 14:59, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Canada Student Service Grant[edit]

Hello everyone,

The Canada Student Service Grant will pay student volunteers to "Support Canada’s response to COVID-19". We could potentially "pay" volunteers to edit COVID-19 related articles, especially Canadian ones or come up with other creative ways to leverage Wikimedia. Wikimedia Canada is a registered non-profit so is eligible to sponsor volunteers for these grants. Wikimedia Canada has agreed in principle to support this but has left it up to the volunteers to organize.

Anyone interested? Samw (talk)

I've had one volunteer contact me interested in organizing. So I'm going ahead and will try and formally register us. More organizing help still needed! Samw (talk) 18:34, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I can help with the formal registration part. Contact me by email jpbeland@wikimedia.ca. JP Béland (WMCA) (talk) 14:28, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
JP, thanks! I will try to create a draft of the registration on-wiki, especially the job description. I'm currently thinking of 2 "job" types: admins to organize, lead & educate volunteer writers and actual content writers: Canada Student Service Grant registration. 16:11, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
