  • I have a few (I'm not eligible myself, but know several who are and who may be interested): Sasata 21:07, 13 September 2011 (EDT)
  1. can an individual submit more than one entry; i.e. if one decides to improve several medicine-related article to FA status (unlikely, I know, but not impossible), will they each be judged separately?
  2. if several top-importance medicine articles are pushed to FA by different editors, how will the judges decide which is awarded the scholarship?
  3. any restrictions on the way the article is edited? Would it be alright, for example, to perform all edits in userspace in a sandbox and then dump it all in the article in a single edit prior to GAN or FAC?
  4. what happens if there's a collaboration, so that more than one person is involved in achieving GA or FA status?
  5. who is paying for the scholarship?
1) Yes an individual can submit more than one article and they will be judged separately.
2) We will be looking at the degree of improvement in the article
3) It is preferred if the article is edited on Wikipedia rather than cut and pasted in the place at the very end but there is not a restriction
4) If there is a collaboration we can discuss splitting the award between multiple users ( they all must however be enrolled at a secondary institution )
5) I am personally donating the money to cover this scholarship to Wikimedia Canada which will than cover the award.--Doc James 15:54, 16 September 2011 (EDT)

  • I have a question too. Why the scholarship is limited to "Canadian secondary educational institution" ? I find it interesting and I would like to offert to my students to participate. They study in a cégep. Pourquoi la bourse est limitée à des établissements d'enseignement secondaire canadiens ? J'aimerais faire participer mes étudiants, qui sont de niveau collégial. This scholarship is a pilot project. It is an effort to increase the involvement of post secondary students. Cegep is post secondary and thus they can apply. The language is limited to English as my French abilities and that of the rest of the people judging submissions are not good enough to judge French writing. If this is a success and we will be looking at expanding the number of scholarships, the languages, the countries, and the topic areas (this will also depend on finding people in those languages who can manage the project).--Doc James 15:54, 16 September 2011 (EDT)
