About me

I am Gergő Tisza, a developer and Wikimedian from Hungary. I've been involved with the movement since 2004, as an editor, administrator, tool developer, translator and chapter member. Since 2013 I have been working for the Wikimedia Foundation and living in San Francisco. For more information, see my LinkedIn profile.

My work

I am a member of the Foundation's MediaWiki Platform Team. Previously I have worked in the old Multimedia team, the Product Infrastructure team and the Growth team.

Projects I have worked on in the past include CommonsMetadata, Media Viewer UploadWizard, OAuth, SessionManager and AuthManager, Multi-Content Revisions, ReadingLists, the Parsoid PHP port, GrowthExperiments and CentralAuth. I have been marginally involved with MediaWiki-Vagrant, ORES, TemplateStyles, PageViewInfo and Structured data on Commons as well.

Some personal projects I am sometimes working on: Wikispore, Matrix, security (e.g. separating JS editing permissions), Sentry and the Developer Wishlist.

Some thoughts on strategy: We need a wikiproject incubator to enable innovation. (2017 developer summit position statement), Reliable, accessible information on life-altering topics (2015 Reading department strategy).

You can see what I am doing at the moment on Phabricator (profile, team board, personal board) and Gerrit.
