On February 11, 2023, in collaboration with Women's College Hospital, I plan on running an Edit-A-Thon event at the Toronto Reference Library Branch of the Toronto Public Library system. This event aims to increase female scientists' presence on Wikipedia and encourage others to edit and learn. We are estimating between five to eight attendees plus the three organizers.
I plan on presenting a short slideshow to introduce basic editing skills and explain the importance of Women in Red. I expect the attendees to bring their own laptops but the library has some to borrow in case they cannot. I expect the event to last between 2-4 hours.

Activity Report[edit]
During the event, participants were shown a slide show and personally walked through how to research and edit Wikipedia articles. Together, we edited and published two articles: Brenda Gallie and Janet Smylie. Participants were also encouraged to add photos to Wikipedia and walked through the Wikimedia Commons process. Overall, this took two hours with the final portion of the event open to questions about general Wikipedia rules and customs (ie. how does one become an admin?). As a result of the successfulness of the event, members from Women's College Hospital have asked me to conduct this again during the summer months.
