A weekend between board members is planned to organize the 2018 general meeting scheduled for the fall, discuss and build the 2018 H2 budget and make our quarterly meeting of the board of directors, but also to make the team building. Except for 2017, where the Board had met for 3 days in downtown Montreal, these sessions were done via email since 2011, with a mixed result and unproductive; the "In person meeting" of 2017 was on the contrary very productive, because the working sessions were 8 consecutive hours, over 3 days. We set up a lot of policies, organized the 2017 AGM and were able to meet the Wikimania team in San Francisco to launch the chapter in the organization of Wikimania 2017 Montreal.
That is why in 2018, the Board added a program in its 2018-H1 budget, so that board members can meet in person from May 18 to 21, 2018 and organize the same kind of work sessions in 2017 ( 3 days of 8 hours). We decided to go to a secluded retreat rather than downtown to be more focused on the tasks, but also to enjoy our more casual nights, but always be together to continue to "team building" ": team games, cook, eat, organize activities together, with the aim of building links between the members of the Board.
