Journée d’édition collaborative : les Premières Nations dans Wikipédia[edit]

Vous êtes cordialement invité(e)s à la journée d’édition collaborative les Premières Nations dans Wikipédia le 10 août 2017 à Montréal. Cette journée vise à encourager les membres des Premières Nations et leurs alliés à améliorer le contenu qui les concerne dans l’encyclopédie Wikipédia, la plus grande encyclopédie libre et ouverte sur Internet. Elle est organisée par Wikimédia Canada en partenariat avec Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec, le Conseil de la Nation Atikamekw, le Conseil des Atikamekw de Manawan, l’Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), Rising Voices avec la collaboration des Bibliothèques de Montréal. Elle est proposée dans le cadre du Congrès Wikimania et du projet Wikipetcia Atikamekw Nehiromowin.

En matinée sera offert un atelier de formation à l’édition de Wikipédia. L’après-midi sera consacrée à l’écriture des articles et à un cercle de discussion sur les façons de mieux adapter Wikipédia à la transmission du savoir propre aux Premières Nations. Les formateurs parlent français, anglais et atikamekw.

Edit-a-thon : First Nations on Wikipedia[edit]

You are cordially invited to an edit-a-thon on First Nations and Wikipedia on August 10, 2017 in Montreal. This day-long workshop aims to encourage members of First Nations communities and allies to write, edit, and improve content on Wikipedia, the world’s largest free access encyclopedia on the internet. The event is hosted by Wikimedia Canada in partnership with the National Public Library and Archives of Québec, the Atikamekw Nation Council, the Manawan Atikamekw Council, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), Rising Voices and the Librairies of Montréal. The activity will take place as part of the Wikimania Conference and the Wikipetcia Atikamekw Nehiromowin project.

The event will begin with a morning workshop to train participants on how to edit articles on Wikipedia. In the afternoon, a round-table discussion will take place about the opportunities and challenges of sharing First Nations knowledge on Wikipedia. The rest of the afternoon will be devoted to the writing and editing of articles with the help of experienced Wikipedians from around the world. Trainers will speak French, English and Atikamekw.

Admission is free, but prior registration is required.
