GLAM projects with Library and Archives Canada
September 18 - GLAM Presentation at Library and Archives Canada
On September 18, two members of the Wikimedia Canada Executive and two Archivists of the BAnQ are invited to Library and Archives Canada (BAC) to present the GLAM projects carried out at BAnQ for the past 3 years: uploading of archives in Commons, transcription of books and manuscripts in Wikisource, scan-a-thon and voice recording in Lingua Libre. About forty archivists from across Canada attended the presentation either on site or by videoconference. Then came a dinner-conference where the management of LAC was able to ask questions to WMCA and BAnQ in order to start the GLAM projects the right way.
