Board candidate[edit]
Good day Jeff, first thank you for everything that you are doing and thank you for showing interest to continuing. For this AGM, we asked the candidates to the Board of directors to write an introduction for themselves as well as their motivations to become a director and their vision for Wikimedia Canada on their user page on this wiki. I think it would be good if you could also do it since we have a lot of new members that weren't present at any of the previous AGMs. Thank you again, Amqui (talk) 02:28, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Translations to be checked[edit]
Deletion[edit]
Did you intend to delete Projects/Wikisource and replace it with Projets/Wikisource/en? If you respond here, please use my username so that Echo will see it. Thanks. Koavf (talk) 00:46, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- @User:Koavf: I've been replacing our hodgepodge of translation systems with mw:Extension:Translate. I used "Projets/Wikisource" as the main page title because most of the content is in French. The title of the of the page when viewed in English should be "Projects/Wikisource". I'm not sure why that isn't working on this page. --Arctic.gnome (talk) 01:01, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- Translation makes sense, of course but there will be redlinks. I'll replace the one I found. Koavf (talk) 02:32, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Hello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future. The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.
You can find more information about this survey on the project page and see how your feedback helps the Wikimedia Foundation support editors like you. This survey is hosted by a third-party service and governed by this privacy statement (in English). Please visit our frequently asked questions page to find more information about this survey. If you need additional help, or if you wish to opt-out of future communications about this survey, send an email through the EmailUser feature to WMF Surveys to remove you from the list.
Thank you!

Every response for this survey can help the Wikimedia Foundation improve your experience on the Wikimedia projects. So far, we have heard from just 29% of Wikimedia contributors. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes to be completed. Take the survey now.
If you have already taken the survey, we are sorry you've received this reminder. We have design the survey to make it impossible to identify which users have taken the survey, so we have to send reminders to everyone. If you wish to opt-out of the next reminder or any other survey, send an email through EmailUser feature to WMF Surveys. You can also send any questions you have to this user email. How we will see unregistered users[edit]
Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
