2022 Long Campaign[edit]The #1Lib1Ref campaign is now in its 6th year, and the Canadian friendly competition is in 4th year! Wikimedia Canada invites you to participate in the 2022 competition running from January 15th to June 5th. That's right, you read from January 15th to June 5th! Imagine a world where each librarian added at least one reference to an article in Wikipedia... together, we can contribute to the reliability and credibility of humanity's most consulted source of information! The Long CampaignInstead of doing two activities from 15 January to 5 February and from 15 May to 5 June, Wikimedia Canada is trying a pilot project, a 6-month long campaign! That is, from 15 January to 5 June 2022. Why?Wikimedia Canada wants to give all Canadian Librarians and opportunity to participate in the project. With the start of school and university in January and the end of term in May, we feel that a longer campaign will allow more people to participate during the months of February, March and April. Who Can Participate?A GLAM institution may enter the campaign at any time between January 15, 2022 and June 5, 2022. The earlier a GLAM institution participates, the more time it has to add references and move up in the rankings. How to participate?[edit]First, join the Canadian #1Lib1Ref Dashboard (see below). Then, add a citation to Wikipedia. You can use the Citation Hunt tool to find articles needing references. You can also participate to one of our online community hours (see below) or also organize your own event such as a virtual edit-a-thon. Do not hesitate to contact our team; we can help you. Online community hours[edit]Wikimedia Canada is hosting a series of online "community hours" where you are invited to come share your contributions to the campaign and to ask your questions. Those community hours will be hosted by volunteers from Wikimedia Canada, and are an excellent opportunity to meet other Canadian Wikimedians. Click on the date below to register and receive the online meeting URL.
Dashboard[edit]In order to compile the contributions of each institution in the friendly competition, Wikimedia Canada is using the Wikimedia Dasboard. This year, the dashboards must be created by each library and liked to the 2022 1Lib1Ref Canada campaign. For help with using the Dashboard, please visit this Google Doc or download this PDF from Wikimedia Commmons. Link to the Overview Dashboard of #1Lib1Ref 2022 in Canada: link lien |
